We are a group of Canadian women with kinship ties to our ancestral village of Diman, one of several small villages encircling our Holy Kadisha Valley, near the great forest of the Cedars of Lebanon, celebrated in the scriptures.
Recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site, with outstanding universal value, the Kadisha Valley represents one of the oldest and largest Christian monastic communities in the world.

Immigrants from Diman and neighbouring villages of the Bcharre District
surrounding the Holy Kadisha Valley include some of the first Arabic speaking
people in America.

According to UNESCO, our valley is at risk due to inconsistent conservation
activity. The economy in Lebanon is significantly deprived due to conflict in
the region. We are building an education fund and finding ways to empower
the next generation of youth from Diman.

By supporting the Sisterhood of Diman Foundation, you can help us to empower the youth of Diman and other villages of the Holy Kadisha Valley, through various projects including educational scholarships, cultural exchange programs, conservation strategies to protect ecosystems, ancestral farmlands and ancient archeological sites.

We would love to hear from you
and how we can potentially work together on projects.
